[05:42.80]READING TASK    CAUGHT IN A BLACK HOLE

[05:56.28]The spaceship warned 2 Li Yanping and me to be ready as we approaching the "black hole".

[06:03.94]There seemed to be a large circle of lights going round an empty space.

[06:09.08]Li Yanping called out,"That empty hole is like a mouth always needing to be fed.

[06:15.25]The lights are large stars being slowly sucked 3 into it."

[06:19.61]We watched in shock and amazement 4

[06:22.54]as a large sun suddenly disappeared into the hole.

[06:26.61]Just then the lights on our spaceship went out and the computer stopped working.

[06:32.67]What was happening?I tried to turn the spaceship away from the hole

[06:38.24]but it would not move.Would it eat us too?

[06:42.60]Suddenly the spaceship jumped and began to move 

[06:46.83]round the edge 5 of the outside of the hole.

[06:49.89]The gravity 6 of the "black hole"was pulling us slowly into its"mouth".

[06:55.45]As the spaceship moved round the hole,it began to go faster and faster.

[07:01.30]I felt sick.My watch moved slower and slower and time seemed almost to stop.

[07:08.15]My mouth went dry and I closed my eyes.

[07:11.91]All the stories about what happeded

[07:14.68]when you were caught by the gravity of a "black hole"seemed to be true.

[07:19.41]But then the spaceship jumped again.

[07:22.15]This time it moved sideways from the "black hole."

[07:26.09]It began to increase its speed until it seemed to be going as fast as light.

[07:31.74]I was bumped 7 and banged 8 as the spaceship flew like a bird away from the "black hole".

[07:37.61]What was happening?At last we slowed almost to a stop

[07:43.18]and we were able to look around us.

[07:46.13]The sky certainly looked different

[07:48.98]but this would not be a problem as the computer started working again.

[07:53.65]We realized that we had discovered something new about"black holes".

[07:58.82]They"eat"some objects but"spit"other objects out.How exciting
