From the CNN Center in Atlanta, I'm Nicole Lapin. Thanks so much for checking in with us today. Here's a look at what's happening right Now In The News.

CNN has just learned that Mitt 1 Romney will officially endorse 2 his former rival in the Republican presidential race Senator John McCain. The endorsement 3 is expected to happen at a Boston event at 3:30 Eastern Time.

The Pentagon is now considering shooting down a dead spy satellite that's threatening to slam into Earth. CNN confirms reports now that the Defense 4 Agency is making plans to shoot it down early next month. AP is now saying that the Bush Administration wants a US Navy cruiser to fire a missile at the satellite before it can enter the Earth atmosphere.

A lot of people displaced by Hurricane Katrina could also be displaced again, and it's on the advice of government health officials. The Centres for Disease Control and Prevention is going public with a report on the trailers distributed in Louisiana after the storm. It finds that on average five more times toxic 5 formaldehyde fumes 6 exist there than the average home. The CDC is also urging the government to move everybody out of the trailers ASAP

There will be no recession in 2008! Well, at least that is the word from Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke and the Treasury 7 Secretary Henry Paulson. Both men testified before the Senate Banking 8 Committee today. Bernanke said that the US economy has slowed due to problems in both the housing and the credit markets. But he did add that he expects economic growth to pick up soon. He also said that the Fed is ready to keep lowering interest rates in order to keep the economy moving.

If you think that men want a so-called trophy 9 wife and that women just want a so-called sugar daddy, well, think again. Beauty may only be skin-deep. But it is what gets noticed first. Just In Time For Valentine's Day, a new study from Northwestern University finds that good looks are the No. 1 attraction for both sexes, earning power came in second as the most attractive quality for men and women.

Those are the headlines at this hour. For more on those stories and other news of the day, CNN is always your source online or on television.
