This is AP News Minute.

The Charlotte police chief said officers gave a black man multiple warnings to drop a handgun before one of them opened fire and killed him. But the man's family says he was unarmed. Tensions remained high after protesters clashed with police officers overnight.

Hillary Clinton said the killing 1 of African Americans by police officers is unbearable 2 and needs to become intolerable. Donald Trump 3 courted black voters in Cleveland, saying he was "very troubled" by the killing of a black man by a white officer in Oklahoma. But he was introduced by boxing promoter Don King who used a racial slur 4 as he made the case for supporting Trump.

Russia and the US blamed each other for Syria's failing cease-fire as the UN Security Council took up the civil war. Secrectary of State John Kerry called for the grounding of all aircraft over parts of Syria to allow for humanitarian 5 aid.

Dozens of dogs salons 6, boutiques and purebred puppy sellers are spring up across Havana as Cuba's growing upper-middle class is developing an interest in fancy dogs. The growing business is creating hundreds of jobs and some small reminders 7 of a widening income gap.
