Chinese President Xi Jinping is beginning a 2-day visit to Pakistan today.
As part of his time there, Xi Jinping is expected to oversee 1 the signing of a series of deals connected to energy, infrastructure 2, education and culture.
The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor connecting the city of Kashgar in Xinjiang to the southwestern Pakistani port of Gwadar is also expected to be one of the priorities among the talks.
Pakistan is the first leg of Xi Jinping's first overseas trip this year.
He's also due to travel to Indonesia.
24 people remain trapped in a flooded coal mine in the city of Datong in Shanxi.
The mine was flooded last night while 247 people were working underground.
223 managed to escape.
Rescue work for the 2 dozens trapped is underway.
The fate of the trapped miners still remains 3 unclear.
It's believed flooding has been caused by a build-up of water in an abandoned area of the mine
