China’s Foreign Ministry 1 has urged Japan to develop a correct understanding of history and draw lessons from its militarist past.

"Japanese leaders have made clear their stance by actions that show they want to revise history of the aggression 2 and glorify 3 class-A war criminals. We urge the Japanese to stop this behaviour and moving in the wrong direction. If Japanese leaders do not have a correct understanding on Japan’s military aggression and atone 4 for that ... if they do not learn from history, stick to peaceful development, and adopt responsible policies, Japan will be led down a dangerous and incorrect path," said Hua Chunying, spokeswoman of Chinese Foreign Ministry.
