2015年CRI Macao Gives Full play to Its Key Role in Belt and Road Initiatives

The latest stats from the World Travel and Tourism Council suggests tourism industry accounted for over 43 percent of Macao's whole GDP in the year of 2014.

Chief Executive of Macau, Chui Sai-on, says the special administrative 1 region, once a key hub of the ancient Maritime 2 Silk Road, is now ready to grasp the golden opportunity provided by the Belt and Road Initiatives.

In November, the initiative, namely the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, has for the first time appeared in the Macao SAR Chief Executive's policy address. Data from a new industry report shows Macao's exhibition industry ranked the top among all places in Asia last year, with its exhibition sales surging 38 percent year on year.
